The lodging at Cinco Canyon Ranch is as unique as the rugged landscape which defines the ranch. A three story massive rock barn, constructed from native limestone gathered on the ranch provides one venue for lodging. Formerly the owner’s residence, the top two levels of the barn (known as the “Loft”) are available for guests. Designed by a prominent Houston architect and interior designer, the Loft is constructed with walls of windows to provide a picturesque view to the west of the Hill Country sunset and a view to the east of the activities in the party barn below. A cozy two bedroom hunter’s cabin with all the creature comforts of home provide a second lodging venue. The large back porch of the hunter’s cabin overlooks a rolling meadow and is the frequent site of fire pit gatherings where hunting experiences of the day are shared along with grilled venison rollups, quail sausage and drinks. (or whatever wild game treat Cinco Canyon Ranch might prepare).
Although within a twenty (20) mile radius of Cinco Canyon Ranch there are at least a half dozen Hill Country restaurants serving cuisine on par with the finest gourmet food served in big city restaurants, we would rather dine at Cinco Canyon Ranch..
A hearty breakfast and lunch provide the bookends for the morning hunt. Traditionally, an assortment of grilled wild game hors d’oeuvres announces the beginning of a sumptuous dinner which includes such dishes as elk, axis or blackbuck back strap, imaginative vegetable accompaniments, dazzling salads and homemade desserts.
